Meeting Minutes

horizontal rule

21 October 2000

After lunch, there was general discussion regarding the upkeep of county roads as well as our own.  The county roads are in bad shape and the county will not grade them because they are deemed a “Fire Danger.”  After informal discussion, it was decided to wait until Spring to grade the roads.

The subject of the contract with CATTLEMAN was introduced-with a great deal of input from members.  Some members pointed out that the bulls were destroying plants and chasing people.  Although CATTLEMAN has reimbursed for damage, it was pointed out by President Bob Frank that CATTLEMAN has no legal obligation to reimburse.  LANDOWNER and LANDOWNER suggested we not renew the lease, and use the money to fix the roads in perpetuity, i.e. the 120K in the bank would pay for many years of road maintenance at the rate of from $2500-$4000 per year.  Kim Rowe, in rebuttal, argued that people rely on the Association to keep the roads up.

LANDOWNER moved that we disband the Association.  No second.  President Bob Frank stated that the Association could not be voted out as all owners must be present to vote.

LANDOWNER then moved that we all look at the feasibility of disbanding the Association.  LANDOWNER seconded:

Vote (by show of hands) was:  For:  3 ---------- Against:  7

LANDOWNER then moved to discontinue the lease with CATTLEMAN; LANDOWNER seconded.

For:  3 ---------- Against:  7

Kim Rowe moved that if the lease is renewed, there should be a specific clause inserted, that the problem of the bulls must be addressed and that Lee Bradshaw must fix this problem.  Greg Moffatt seconded.       For: 7 ---------- Against:  0

Kim Rowe moved that there be major improvements to the roads.  David Weston seconded.

For:  9 ---------- Against:  0

All common access roads are to be graded and graveled once a year.  Any cost greater than $2500-$4000 is subject to a special vote.
