PROPOSAL: ELECTRIC GENERATORS FOR HOMEOWNERS
It has been our goal since 1980 to bring PG&E electricity to Red Bank Oaks. As most of you are aware, this has been made all but impossible by excessive taxes on line extensions and lack of revenue.
I am proposing that instead of PG&E, the Homeowners Assoc. buy and maintain generators to furnish power to each household.
We have purchased and are now trying a 6.5 KW Kubota diesel generator which should be adequate to furnish power to most homes if cooking and heat is from a different source. It has been estimated that this generator will average a 7 to 10 year life span. I have used the 7 year figure in my calculations and we can furnish and replace generators as they wear out by having each user pay $50.00 per month plus diesel fuel. These charges are very competitive with PG&E. The Homeowner’s Association would provide maintenance and repairs at no additional cost to the Homeowners.
Red Bank Oaks has built slowly so we figure the cattle pasture rent (Homeowner’s dues) will be adequate to maintain the roads and also provide enough money to buy everyone generators as homes and/or mobiles are placed on each parcel.
In order to be fair to everyone, I would like to acquire additional smaller generators and make them available to parcel owners who only camp on their parcels. We would rent these to owners at a fraction of what rental shops would charge.
